… a tension-filled play of dispersed, sharp red and blue shapes (representing the drops of blood and water that flowed from Jesus’ pierced heart) is depicted against a golden-yellow background: it is an explosion or scattering of Divine Love that resembles a »nuclear reaction« (Pope Benedict XVI). The black lines of the drawing enhance the glow of the colourful kaleidoscope, introduce movement to the composition and outline the »hieroglyphs« of the eye and the bird as symbolic images of the Father’s gaze and the Holy Spirit’s flight ...
