CYBER DS3P

A regular activity of implementing programmes presenting Slovenian arts on World Wide Web will through its organisation and content enable development, public appearance and reciprocal connections of different authors, groups and projects on the Internet. The main activity of DS3P will be organizing public performances - exhibitions, projections, concerts, conferences, lectures and various programmes based on international co -operation on Internet.

One of the regular programmes is an art gallery, called galeriart.net which is conntrolled by DS3P. This virtual gallery will in due time become an interactive computer programme concepted as a 3D art exhibition of individual artists. The gallery's programme will be based on regular monthly exhibitions accompanied by invitations for establishing contacts on the Discussion page and further interactive socialising inside the virtual space of the gallery.

Today people need a permanent relationship with art and culture. The project's aim is a step-by-step construction of a virtual place that will enable different artists and users a constant enjoyment in the latest artistic production within the technological environment. The whole computer programme will be composed out of numerous parts entitled as Artists, Exhibitions, Galleries, Discussions, Events, and Ethics.

This programme is a unique attempt and new approach in MERGING the overlook of SLOVENIAN CULTURAL BID. The use of cyber location represents a shift from a real exhibition place to the cyber-place. The art gallery is the first of important DS3P's programmes. As an cyber art gallery it is operational since March 2005. The location of galeriart.net will help us to overcome the accommodational problems, although it is not the adequate surrogate for a real brick-build gallery. In fact it represents something more – it invites the onlooker to visit the actual partner galleries. It is becoming the way of exploring the media possibilities of Internet, especially its accessability and communicational feasibility. It is an excellent oppurtunity to crate a new value insight.

THE CONCEPT

The galeriart.net net-gallery is established to perform a support service for different fields of fine arts, its creation and its theory. The gallery's work includes organization of classical (paintings, graphics and sculpture) art exhibitions, exhibitions of art photography, fine art instalations (sculpture and video instalations), art performances (action painting, photo performances), lectures on theory of fine arts, and cultural programmes basic aim of which is socializing and connecting art programmes with various literary, musical and other supplementary programmes.

The thematical range of our work extends from classical (academic) fine arts' practice (drawing, painting, sculpture...), over art photography to contemporary artistic practices that are founded on use of new expressive medias (video, multimedia, instalations).

We will also take care about promotion and establishment of talented and perspective young artists, especially all those art creators and scholars whose work introduces fresh ideas, new cultural information and challenging the established cultural space.

Our activities shall inject the desperately needed creative encouragement to The current situation on various fields of contemporary art creation and theory and it must at the same time increase the responses in the branch and broader (domestic and foreign) cultural surrounding.

The galeriart.net will represent a dynamic sociable and information point inside Slovenian cultural branch, where the exchange of crative ideas, views and experiences among different generations of art creators and scholars will be possible. Our main programmes will evolve with printed monographies, anthologies and catalogues.
